Say Yes: Alexander Wang On Sale!

I just about post on sales for Alexander Wang clothing more than any other brand, which says alot for a self-confessed shoe addict.  When Shopbop offered an EXTRA20 on their 50% and 70% off items for 2 days, who was I to refuse an Alexander Wang? Especially when this promised a main-line Wang in the price region of his T dresses!

If you're more into the Ts, Wang's retail website is offering 50% off some of the styles.  Last I checked, the elusive XS was available in several styles! 

I refuse to feel guilty about this late in 2009 purchase - am most certainly debuting it for the anniversary date with the bf next week.  Promise to be good next year :)

Still Outta My Reach: Large Python PS1

Far be it from me to preach retail to those able to afford GBP1800 bags, but this BLACK. Python. Large. PS1 (that's 30% off on Net-A-Porter) is a much better investment than the similarly-priced seasonal-coloured ostrich Mulberry Mitzy Hobo.

Merry Christmas!! Mulberry's year-end sale preview is now on!  

Maybe I'm just bagged out, but the sale merchandise doesn't excite me.  The only things I'm mildly considering are their offerings in Lipstick Ostrich: the Mitzy Hobo (GBP1995, now GBP997) and Bayswater (GBP2500, now 1250).  That's 50% off which is real decent but I can't even begin to fatham how much that busts my usual bag limit.  Oh well, maybe next year...

A YSL Sale Tribute

"Fashion fades, style is eternal" - Yves Saint Laurent.  At S$453, eternal style can be *very* attainable .

No, that's not a currency typo so that is USD300/180quid my dears.  The cream and dark grey textured patent Lac Sac Tribute flat totes are now 70% OFF at YSL's ION Orchard store.  Considering a black version usually retails for USD1145, you could have a flat Tribute for scarcely the price of one of their regularly priced wallets!  

For those after something black, the quilted like-croc version is a little more at about S$653 (I think, also 70% off - sorry I was too busy scooping my jaw off the floor when the SA told me the discounts).   In my books, this is probably one of the best year-end sales in town! 

An Education: In Vintage

I must confess to having gone a tad off vintage this past year, but An Education made me yearn for its company like an orphan on Christmas Eve.  This nostalgia is in no small part due to Rosamund Pike's stunning Betty Draper-rivaling looks.  She certainly was never this sartorially perfect as a Bond girl.  

As a consequence, I'm now absolutely desperate to bundle up my hair, throw on a leopard coat and statement necklace for a night about the town (ciggie in hand optional).

alldressedup: Fergie Flies Our Flag!

I used to wonder why alldressedup's fabulous line of accessories hadn't yet been picked up by Net-A-Porter or such other retail powerhouse.  With this timely celebrity endorsement, I can't imagine NAP overlooking this range for long! 

As testimony to how highly I think of alldressedup, let's say that IMHO the delicious Josh Duhamel is (for once) not the best accessory on Fergie: 

In a somewhat related aside, I maintain a perennial concern about The Shameless "taking inspiration" from independent, up-and-coming brands.  This fate befell Camilla Skovgaard after her shoes were spotted on Halle Berry and Vanessa Hudgens.  No doubt they were hoping the general population wouldn't realise glaring resemblances.  I'm hoping copycats won't latch onto this charming local brand.  In the meanwhile, can't wait for the full range to arrive instore!

Uniqlo +j: Gimme Gimme More

The dust has barely settled here for Jil Sander's +j range (loads of Ls still in the 313 Somerset store) but already plans are well underway for the SS2010 collection to drop in Japanese stores by Christmas, and London by 7 January!  

Seeing how it took 2 months for the FW09 collection to arrive in Singapore, I'm guessing they'll release the pieces in Singapore only in March/April 2010.  By which time, it'll be 50% off elsewhere (again).  Oh Singapore, Oh Retail-Powers-That-Be, please fix this tragic situation.

Uniqlo @ 313 Somerset (Another Reason to Shop Online)

Uniqlo launched their flagship at 313 Somerset today and the queues were INSANE.  Rather slyly, the brand just started a 25th anniversary sale online, including marking down the +j range that I was after!  No queues and discounts up to 50% OFF... What more could an overworked stuck-in-a-meeting shopper ask for?  Can't wait for my buys to arrive!!
