My neighbourly US contact has returned triumphant with the family's Kate Spadeloot from before Lent (which I hear arrived in the biggest box known to man). Nestled in a Santa-sized sack was mum's (and mine) great white Melinda.
Although my choice was a classic neutral, that shouldn't stop you from injecting some preppy cheer into your weekend. Bryce Dallas Howard's campaign is so indubitably cheerful, I wouldn't be surprised if park fauna spontaneously animate to the tune of 'That's How You Know' if you stepped out in this Prada SS11-esque skirt.

When I chanced upon Kate Spade's 'Head in the Sand Melinda' tote at 30% off online (US$298, about S$388), a chorus of angels erupted. I'd previously posted about the delicious blueberry version but a white version? I had doubts. How was the leather? Would it hold its shape? Could I carry it off? After a whistle-stop tour of the Raffles City boutique, it was the bone-white spoke to me like a burning bush.
Just to put things in perspective, the same style is discounted in Singapore but, buyer beware, the sale price in Singapore (S$588) is pretty much the US full retail price! Are you still here? See you at the checkout!

I'm less than 48 hours from flying to Europe (read: leather handbag mecca), but your features team made me double-take the credit for this bag. Could this really be the work of prep school betty, Kate Spade?
Thisostrich-embossed cowhide style has a lady-like boxy shape reminiscent of Valextra or Louis Vuitton and is thus seasonless. Who couldn't help but feel cheered by its juicy blueberry hue - guaranteed to lift any outfit! Aren't the little accents adorable? Zips that extend to the sides, the witty zipper pull and, most impressively, the fantastic name: 'Head in the sand Melinda'!
At US$425 (S$548 at the current exchange rate), this is going straight on my Christmas wish list if I'm not completely cleaned out by my holiday. For those not burdened with such restrictions, pre-order it now online! (scheduled delivery 15 Dec 2010)
Oh I'm in so much trouble! Eye candy and wallet tempting treats galore await me in London - starting with no less than 3 sample sales which have caught my attention (Daily Candy you kill me), and this adorable Kate Spade pop-up shop in Covent Garden!
